Detailed Description
	Statement Reference Bap170[hfl1] adults which have been rescued by expression of Bap170[C1.Scer\UAS] under the control of Scer\GAL4[Dll-md23] have eyes that are slightly larger than normal and have a rough appearance. The ommatidia often have more than the normal number of photoreceptor cells (some have extra outer photoreceptors, some have an extra putative R7 cell) and often have more than the normal four cone cells. (Rendina et al., 2010)

Genetic Interactions
Statement Reference Co-expression of Bap170[C1.Scer\UAS] enhances the loss of wing vein L4 that is seen in flies expressing Ras85D[N17.Scer\UAS] under the control of Scer\GAL4[bi.PU], such that there is a loss of the entire L4 vein distal to the posterior crossvein. The distal end of wing vein L3 is missing in these flies and a reduction in wing surface area and occasional notching of the wing margin is also seen. Expression of Bap170[C1.Scer\UAS] under the control of Scer\GAL4[Bx-MS1096] enhances the loss of wing vein L4 that is seen in Egfr[f24]/Egfr[T1] flies, such that there is a loss of the entire L4 vein. In addition the central region of wing vein L3 does not form. Ras85D[e1B] flies which are also expressing Bap170[C1.Scer\UAS] under the control of Scer\GAL4[hs.2sev] have rough eyes and lack all R7 photoreceptor cells. Expression of Bap170[C1.Scer\UAS] under the control of Scer\GAL4[elav.PU] enhances the rough eye phenotype and loss of photoreceptor cells seen in pnt[Δ88]/pnt[1277] flies. (Rendina et al., 2010)
