    The morphology of the mitochondria in the indirect flight muscle of 2 day old mutant adults appears to be slightly altered compared to wild type; the mitochondria are longer in the long-axis direction than normal and constrictions are often seen in the mitochondria.

    Pgam5NP0568 significantly suppresses the abnormal wing posture of flies expressing Pink1dsRNA.Scer\UAS under the control of Scer\GAL4Mhc.PW, but fails to suppress the short lifespan phenotype of these flies.

    The defects in the adult thorax, the progressive abnormal wing posture phenotype, the progressive loss of climbing ability and the shorter lifespan seen in Pink1B9 flies are suppressed if they are also mutant for Pgam5NP0568.

    The mitochondrial hyperfusion and loss of cristae of the mitochondria of indirect flight muscles of one day old Pink1B9 adults is partially suppressed by Pgam5NP0568.

    The loss of dopaminergic neurons in the protocerebral posterior lateral 1 (PPL1) and protocerebral posterior medial 1 and 2 (PPM1/2) clusters of the brain that is seen in 25 day old Pink1B9 adults is suppressed if the flies are also mutant for Pgam5NP0568.

    Pgam5NP0568 has little effect on the abnormal wing posture phenotype of parkP21 flies, and fails to rescue the progressive loss in climbing ability and reduced lifespan of parkP21 flies.

    The elongated morphology of the mitochondria in the indirect flight muscles of parkP21 adults is suppressed by Pgam5NP0568.
