Keap1EY5 homozygous adult midgut clones present a significant decrease in cell number at 7 days after clone induction, as compared to control clones.
A Keap1EY5 heterozygous background has no effect on locomotor performance.
Male Keap1EY5/+ flies show significantly increased survival rates after exposure to oxidative stress. Importantly, male Keap1EY5 heterozygotes also live significantly longer than their otherwise genetically identical siblings. Female Keap1EY5 heterozygotes do not show significant differences in either oxidative stress resistance or longevity.
