Overexpression of lokScer\UAS.P\T.T:Ivir\HA1 under the control of Scer\GAL4GMR.PF has no effect on eye morphology.

Overexpression of lokScer\UAS.P\T.T:Ivir\HA1 under the control of Scer\GAL4nos.UTR.T:Hsim\VP16, which drives expression during ovarian stem cell development and also during oogenesis, has no effect on stem cell development but leads to massive cell death of stage 8/9 egg chambers in mid-oogenesis, visualized by nurse cell DNA condensation.

Overexpression of lokScer\UAS.P\T.T:Ivir\HA1 in germ cells under the control of Scer\GAL4mat.αTub67C.T:Hsim\VP16, which drives expression during mid to late oogenesis and is loaded into eggs, causes cell death of stage 8/9 egg chambers, as visualized by nurse cell condensation. Overexpression has no effect on survival of the germline. Ovaries from lokScer\UAS.P\T.T:Ivir\HA1 overexpressing germlines show degeneration in 52% of stage 8/9 egg chambers.

Overexpression of lokScer\UAS.P\T.T:Ivir\HA1 in the follicle somatic cells using Scer\GAL4GR1 does not induce germline cell death or egg chamber survival.

Overexpression of lokScer\UAS.P\T.T:Ivir\HA1 under the control of Scer\GAL4nos.UTR.T:Hsim\VP16 in mid-stage egg chambers leads to both chromatin condensation and DNA fragmentation.

Expression of lokScer\UAS.P\T.T:Ivir\HA1 under the control of Scer\GAL4nos.UTR.T:Hsim\VP16 in mid-stage egg chambers does not induce autophagic cell death. There is a delay in lysosome increase in these overexpression mutants.
