A FLP/FRT intersectional strategy shows expression of Scer\GAL4GMR22B11 in antennal mechanosensory and motor center B1 projection neuron when combined with Ecol\lexAfru.P1.

Scer\GAL4GMR22B11 drives expression mainly in antennal mechanosensory and motor center B1 projection neuron, but also drives expression in adult antennal lobe projection neurons, medullary neurons, glia and approximately 12 neurons in the thoracic neuromeres with minor innervation of the haltere nerve.

Inhibition (using Ctet\TeTxLCFRT.stop.UAS with Scer\FLP1L.8xlexAop) of neurons expressing Ecol\lexAfru.P1 and Scer\GAL4GMR22B11 significantly reduces male-male courtship chaining responses to pulse song, compared to controls.

Optogenetic activation (using Cnoc\ChR1Cs.20xUAS.FRT.Venus with Scer\FLP1L.8xlexAop and activating with 655 nm (red) light) of neurons expressing Ecol\lexAfru.P1 and Scer\GAL4GMR22B11 does not affect male-male courtship chaining, compared to controls.

Inhibition (using shi1.UAS at 30[o]C) of Scer\GAL4GMR22B11 neurons in adult females significantly reduces receptivity to mating, compared to controls; in males, courtship pulse song-induced locomotion is not significantly affected, compared to controls.
