ScerGAL4GMR24C06 drives expression mainly in antennal mechanosensory and motor center AMMC PN2 projection neuron, but also drives expression in 5 small antennal mechanosensory and motor center B1 projection neurons, approximately 10 neurons in the adult gnathal ganglion region and in three clusters of approximately 4 cells each in the thoracico-abdominal ganglion.
Inhibition (using Ctet\tetXTNT-LC.UAS) of Scer\GAL4GMR24C06 cells, or the combined set of Scer\GAL4GMR24C06 and Scer\GAL4GMR70G01 cells, significantly diminishes the responses of wedge projection neurons to the onset of wind and slightly reduces the tonic wind response; inhibition of the combined set of Scer\GAL4GMR24C06 and Scer\GAL4GMR45D07 cells does not significantly reduce the responses of wedge projection neurons to the onset of wind or reduce the tonic wind response.
Optogenetic activation (using Cnoc\ChR1::Csub\ChRCsChrimson.IVS.20xUAS.Venus) of Scer\GAL4GMR24C06 cells results in a transient depolarization, followed by hyperpolarization of wedge projection neurons, relative to controls.
Inhibition (using shi1.UAS at 30[o]C) of Scer\GAL4GMR24C06 neurons in adult females does not significantly affect receptivity to mating, compared to controls; in males, courtship pulse song-induced locomotion is not significantly affected, compared to controls.
Thermogenetic activation (using TrpA1UAS.(B).cKa at 27[o]C) of Scer\GAL4GMR24C06 neurons in adult females does not significantly affect receptivity to mating, compared to controls.
