ScerGAL4GMR64H06 drives expression in ple positive larval dopaminergic pPAM neurons.
ScerGAL4GMR64H06 drives expression in mushroom body extrinsic neurons that innervate mushroom body gamma lobe slices 1, 3, 4 and 5, mushroom body beta lobe slices 1 and 2, and mushroom body beta' lobe slices 1 and 2.
Ablation (using hidUAS.cUa and rprUAS.cUa) of Scer\GAL4GMR64H06 neurons significantly impairs short-term appetitive olfactory memory following training with fructose, arabinose or sorbitol, compared to controls; there is no effect on aversive olfactory memory following training with quinine, compared to controls.
Inhibition (using Hsap\KCNJ2UAS.EGFP) of Scer\GAL4GMR64H06 neurons, in combination with a Gal80[ts] transgene to restrict expression to 1 day prior to training and testing, does not affect 3 hour aversive olfactory memory, compared to controls.
