Expression of dppHMS00011 under the control of Scer\GAL4Mhc.PW leads to an increase in the spontaneous locomotion and in the probability of proboscis extension reflex (also occurs with Scer\GAL4GS.Act88F and RU486 feeding) when compared to control adults.

The adulthood-only expression of dppHMS00011 under the control of Scer\GAL4esg.PU (in combination with Gal80[ts], for temporal regulation of expression) leads to significant decreases in the relative size of secondary cell nuclei, as compared to the neighboring main cell nuclei; this effect is both cell-autonomous and non-cell autonomous. The Scer\GAL4esg.PU-driven expression also leads to a significant decrease in the number of non-acidic secretory vesicles, but not of acidic secretory vesicles, as compared to controls. Adulthood-only expression under the combined control of Scer\GAL4dsx.KI and Gal80[ts] leads to a small but significant increase the size of the largest multivesicular body/lysosome and leads to a small but significant increase in the number of non-acidic, but not of acidic, secretory vesicles within accessory gland secondary cells, as compared to controls; this is associated with a severe decrease in the secretion of (CD63-positive) exosomes into the accessory gland lumen.

The adulthood-only expression of dppHMS00011 under the combined control of Scer\GAL4spi-NP0261 and Gal80[ts] results in both virgin and mated males showing a significant increase in the number of dense core granule compartments within accessory gland secondary cells, as compared to matched controls.

Germaria in flies expressing dppHMS00011 under the control of Scer\GAL4C587 exhibit fewer cystoblasts, but no significant difference in germline stem cell number, as compared to controls.

The expression of dppHMS00011 under the control of Scer\GAL4C587 leads to some germaria losing germ line stem cells, as compared to controls.

Scer\GAL4da.Switch.PT dppHMS00011 adults, fed with RU486 to activate expression, show reduced lifespan compared to controls.

Down-regulation of dpp in Pdf-positive neurons, through expression of dppHMS00011 under the control of Scer\GAL4P2.4.Pdf induces strong locomotor arrhythmicity. Expression of dppHMS00011 under the control of Scer\GAL4tim.PE and suppressed in Pdf-positive cells through the presence of Scer\GAL80Pdf.PS results in some rescue of the arrhythmic phenotype, with arrhythmicity found in approximately 75-80% of flies.
