Adult flies expressing mysHMS00043 under the control of Scer\GAL4Dot.PK display nephrocyte functional defects (measured by uptake assays) and reduced adult lifespan relative to controls.

Expression of mysHMS00043 under the control of Scer\GAL4repo leads to abnormal elongation of ventral nerve cord in third instar larvae.

Scer\GAL4Mef2.PR-mediated expression of mysHMS00043, induced at the end of the first larval instar stage using the Scer\GAL80 system, results in muscle attachment defects.

The neural invasion phenotype (neural cells from the brain invade adjacent peripheral structures such as imaginal discs) observed in AdamTS-Arnwy1/AdamTS-Arnwy2 mutant third instar larvae is partially suppressed by combination expression of mysHMS00043 if driven by Scer\GAL4repo but not if driven by Scer\GAL4elav.PU combined with Scer\GAL80repo.PL.

Flies co-expressing mysHMS00043 and DlScer\UAS.cDa under the control of Scer\GAL4ey.PU show a high frequency of primary eye tumours and a low frequency of secondary tumours.
