Expression of upd1HMS00545 under the control of Scer\GAL4Cg.PA has no effect on either body weight or attraction to food cues in adult flies, whereas expression driven in the neural tissue by Scer\GAL4elav.PU heightens the attraction to food in fed flies so that it is comparable to the response observed in their starved counterparts as well as starved control flies (and higher than in fed controls). Scer\GAL4elav.PU>upd1HMS00545 flies also consume significantly more food, weigh more than controls and show increased fat deposition.
