UAS regulatory sequences drive expression of a short inverted repeat.
Embryos derived from adults expressing mod(mdg4)HMS00849 under the control of Scer\GAL4VP16.mat.αTub67C (in combination with a Dicer-2 transgene to enhance RNAi efficiency) exhibit abnormal embryonic divisions.
Expression of mod(mdg4)HMS00849 results in: pupal lethality (with Scer\GAL4Act5C.PI), deformed wings (with Scer\GAL4nub.PK) or disrupted posterior wing edge (with Scer\GAL4en.PU). No overt adult phenotype is observed with either the Scer\GAL4ey.PH or Scer\GAL4GMR.PF drivers.
