Overexpression of krzScer\UAS.cMa in the wing blade under the control of Scer\GAL4MD-638 causes a variable phenotype of reduced wing size and changes in the pattern of veins. The most obvious phenotype of krzScer\UAS.cMa overexpression is the reduction of the L3-L4 intervein territory. In the most severe cases, the wing is very reduced in size and all longitudinal veins fail to differentiate.

Expression of krzScer\UAS.cMa in the central nervous system under the control of Scer\GAL4wor.PA rescues the lethality of krzd1/krzS047819. The surviving flies are sterile and display slightly folded wings. Wing discs in rescued larvae have a normal appearance.

Overexpression of krzScer\UAS.cMa in anterior cells located in the central domain of the wing blade under the control of Scer\GAL4dpp.blk1 results in the reduction of the L3-L4 intervein territory.
