Statement

Overexpression of gsb[491.dsRNA.Scer\UAS] in the developing wing under the control of Scer\GAL4[Bx-MS1096] results in a severe perturbation of wing morphology. Overexpression of gsb[491.dsRNA.Scer\UAS] in post-mitotic neurons under the control of Scer\GAL4[elav-C155] does not generate a statistically significant difference in mEPSP amplitude and quantal content. Overexpression of gsb[491.dsRNA.Scer\UAS] in post-mitotic neurons under the control of Scer\GAL4[elav-C155] does not alter bouton size or 'satellite' bouton formation in mutant neuromuscular junctions.

Expression of gsb[491.dsRNA.Scer\UAS] under the control of Scer\GAL4[elav-C155] in a GluRIIA[SP16] heterozygous background significantly suppresses the homeostatic increase in presynaptic release normally observed in GluRIIA[SP16] mutants. Expression of gsb[491.dsRNA.Scer\UAS] under the control of Scer\GAL4[C57] does not change the synaptic homeostasis found in GluRIIA[SP16] heterozygotes. Expression of gsb[491.dsRNA.Scer\UAS] under the control of Scer\GAL4[elav-C155] in a GluRIIA[SP16] heterozygous background significantly reduces the synaptic depression normally observed in GluRIIA[SP16] mutants. Expression of VGlut[Scer\UAS.cDa] and gsb[491.dsRNA.Scer\UAS] in post-mitotic neurons under the control of Scer\GAL4[elav-C155] causes a significant increase in average mEPSP amplitude. There is also a homeostatic decrease in presynaptic quantal content in these mutants.

Comments
Co-expression of gsb[Scer\UAS.cMa] with gsb[491.dsRNA.Scer\UAS] is able to significantly suppress the wing morphological defect found upon expression of gsb[491.dsRNA.Scer\UAS] alone.
