Mutants appear to show elevated methyl farnesoate (MF) levels in corpus allatum extracts compared to controls in the presence/absence of exogenous Ast protein. As for controls, addition of Ast does not affect MF release.
In contrast to controls, addition of exogenous Ast significantly reduces Juvenile Hormone III levels, while it has no effect on Juvenile Hormone bisepoxide levels in mutant corpus allatum extracts.
CG10527KG05615 homozygotes, CG10527KG05615/Df(2R)Pu-D17 animals or CG10527KG05615/Df(2R)PI13 animals all show reduced lifespan compared to controls.
