      High level expression of edinScer\UAS.cGa, using Scer\GAL4Act.PU and insertion P{UAS-edin.G}5-1, results in significant levels of lethality prior to and following eclosion; these flies survive to adulthood at a frequency less than 50% of expected. Those flies surviving to adulthood have a significantly reduced average lifespan compared to controls.
