UAS regulatory sequences drive expression of a short inverted repeat.
The expression of aspGL00108 under the control of Scer\GAL4VP16.mat.αTub67C leads to a low frequency of meiotic spindle asymmetry in late oocytes, but does not lead to obvious centromere asymmetry, homologous centromere orientation defects or karyosome compaction defects, as compared to controls.
Flip-out clones in L3 neuroepithelia expressing aspGL00108 mostly have spindles that are perpendicular to the plane of the epithelium, whereas the spindle shows a parallel configuration in surrounding wild type cells.
