UAS regulatory sequences drive expression of a short inverted repeat.
Embryos from mothers expressing Cdk9HMS01391 under the control of Scer\GAL4VP16.mat.αTub67C show posterior-specific loss of cells in embryos prior to gastrulation, from abnormal loss of posterior nuclei from the cortex prior to germ-band extension; the mesoderm show defects in cell shape as well as multinucleated cells. Germ band extension does not proceed normally and gastrulation is delayed.
Females heterozygous for Cdk9HMS01391 and MTD-Gal4 (consists of Scer\GAL4otu.T:Hsim\VP16, Scer\GAL4nos.PG and Scer\GAL4nos.UTR.T:Hsim\VP16) crossed to Cdk9HMS01391 males results in: "few eggs,38% hatching"; egg/embryonic phenotype: "U-shaped, segmentation defects"; maternal effect.
