Detailed Description
| |||
Statement Reference thoc5[1]/thoc5[e00906] and homozygous thoc5[1] mutant testes contain primary spermatocytes but lack post-meiotic cells. thoc5[1] mutant spermatocytes show abnormally strong condensation of three major bivalent chromosomes and the phase-dark structure of the nucleolus is severely disorganised.
thoc5[1]/thoc5[e00906] trans-heterozygotes are male sterile.

Xenogenetic Interactions
| |||
Statement Reference Expression of Mmus\Thoc5[Scer\UAS.cMa] under the control of Scer\GAL4[da.G32] partially rescues the mutant testis phenotypes. Nucleolar structure is restored to normal. Chromosome condensation is much similar to wild-type, although chromosome shape appear somewhat abnormal. Elongating spermatid flagella are observed.

| |||
| Rescued by | thoc51 is rescued by thoc5+t7.9 | ||
| Comments | thoc5[+t7.9] rescues the meiotic arrest phenotype of thoc5[1]. | ||
