Lethality occurs before the wandering third larval instar stage in homozygotes.

Neuroblasts in homozygous clones in the third larval instar brain appear to have an abnormally high DNA content but do not contain multiple nuclei.

SseC93/SseM13 and SseC93/Df(3L)Exel6106 animals survive until the late third instar stage. Neuroblasts in the brains of these larvae have an abnormally high DNA content. Hemizygous neuroblasts contain multiple centrosomes.
