What does this section display?
This section contains items that were added to this record for each release.
It currently only tracks new links between this FlyBase report and other
FlyBase data classes (e.g. genes, references, stocks) or controlled
vocabulary terms (e.g. GO, anatomy terms).
What does this section not display?
This section does not currently display links that were removed or gene model changes.

Detailed Description
| |||
Statement Reference Homozygotes show rapid seizures upon exposure to 38[o]C. Homozygous larvae also show seizures at 38[o]C and the central pattern generator output from the neuromuscular junction shows rapid, unpatterned firing, in contrast to controls, which retain motor neuron bursting necessary for normal crawling behaviour.
At room temperature, homozygous, hemizygous, zyd[1]/zyd[2] and zyd[1]/zyd[3] adults show a bang-sensitive phenotype (seizures and temporary paralysis in response to brief vortexing).
Homozygotes show robust seizures after a brief period of anesthesia on ice.

Genetic Interactions
| |||
Statement Reference The temperature-sensitive seizure phenotype of zyd[1] larvae and adults is completely suppressed by expression of Cam[HMS01318] under the control of Scer\GAL4[repo].

| Rescued by | |||

| Comments | Expression of zyd[Scer\UAS.cMa] under the control of Scer\GAL4[repo] rescues temperature-sensitives seizures in zyd[1] mutants, but expression under the control of Scer\GAL4[elav-C155] does not.
Expression of zyd[Scer\UAS.cMa] under the control of either Scer\GAL4[Akap200-NP2222], Scer\GAL4[nrv2.PS] or Scer\GAL4[wun-NP1243] rescues temperature-sensitives seizures in zyd[1] mutants.
Expression of zyd[Scer\UAS.cMa] under the control of Scer\GAL4[alrm.PD] fails to rescue temperature-sensitives seizures in zyd[1] mutants.
