      Comments

      Expression of MAPk-Ak2Scer\UAS.cSa under the control of either the ubiquitous driver Scer\GAL4da.G32 or the hindgut driver Scer\GAL4byn.n2 rescues the "black dot" phenotype seen in MAPk-Ak2Δ43 as a result of salt stress. Expression of MAPk-Ak2Scer\UAS.cSa in the midgut under the control of Scer\GAL4Myo31DF-NP0001 or Scer\GAL4cad-em459 is unable to rescue the phenotype. Expression of MAPk-Ak2Scer\UAS.cSa under the control of the dorsal hindgut expressed driver Scer\GAL4en-e16E also rescues the phenotype.

      Expression of MAPk-Ak2Scer\UAS.cSa under the control of the dorsal hindgut expressed driver Scer\GAL4puc-GAL4E69 only mildly rescues the "black dot" phenotype seen in MAPk-Ak2Δ43 larvae raised on 0.1M NaCl.
