Expression of PGRP-LFdsRNA.1.Scer\UAS under the control of Scer\GAL4hs.PB results in constitutive, infection-independent activation of the IMD pathway, generating Dpt levels corresponding to approximately 20% of the full response after septic injury by E. coli. No increase in immune response nor its duration are seen in response to bacterial challenge compared to wild type.

Expression of PGRP-LFdsRNA.1.Scer\UAS in the third instar larval trachea under the control of Scer\GAL4btl.PS results in infection-independent activation of the IMD pathway in the local immune response (seen as an increase in Drosomycin production).

Flies expressing PGRP-LFdsRNA.1.Scer\UAS under the control of Scer\GAL4ptc-559.1 show wing scalloping at the distal tip. Expression using the Scer\GAL4en.PU driver results in notches in the posterior compartment of the wing.
