Presynaptic expression of CCKLR-17D1[Scer\UAS.cCa] under the control of Scer\GAL4[elav-C155] substantially rescues the neuromuscular junction (NMJ) phenotype of Df(1)Exel9051/Y both for bouton number and NMJ morphology. Post-synaptic expression of CCKLR-17D1[Scer\UAS.cCa] under the control of Scer\GAL4[how-24B] fails to rescue the NMJ phenotype of Df(1)Exel9051/Y. Expression of CCKLR-17D1[Scer\UAS.cCa] in all muscles and motor neurons under the control of Scer\GAL4[B185] substantially rescues the NMJ phenotype of Df(1)Exel9051/Y. Expression of CCKLR-17D1[Scer\UAS.cCa] preferentially in motor neurons under the control of Scer\GAL4[Rapgap1-OK6] substantially rescues the NMJ phenotype of Df(1)Exel9051/Y. Overexpression of CCKLR-17D1[Scer\UAS.cCa] in muscle under the control of Scer\GAL4[how-24B] has no effect on NMJ morphology. Overexpression of two copies of CCKLR-17D1[Scer\UAS.cCa] in neurons under the control of Scer\GAL4[elav.PLu] results in a significant increase in synaptic bouton numbers at the larval NMJ.
