Statement Reference Scer\GAL4[GMR.PU]-mediated expression results in a normal eye.
Scer\GAL4[ey.PU]-mediated expression results in a rough eye with irregular alignment of ommatidia and bristles, as well as a significant reduction in the number of adult flies eclosing. Ommatidia are of irregular sizes with excess/fewer rhabdomeres than normal; however, each ommatidium contains normally polarized photoreceptor cells, suggesting that the phenotypes are caused by defects in photoreceptor clustering during ommatidial formation.
The specification of R8 neurons is disturbed in Scer\GAL4[ey.PU], AP-1σ[NIG.5864R] third instar larval discs. | |||
