Statement Reference Homozygous clones induced by the eyFLP method result in ectopic CO[[2]] neurons on the maxillary palp (MP). The ectopic neurons show dual targeting specificity: in addition to targeting the V-glomerulus they also innervate a set of medial glomeruli normally innervated by two MP olfactory receptor neuron classes. The ectopic neurons are functional and respond to CO[[2]]. The number of antennal CO[[2]] neurons is unaffected. | |||

Statement Reference Expression of mir-279[Scer\UAS.T:Disc\RFP] under the control of Scer\GAL4[Act.PU] suppresses the formation of ectopic CO[[2]] neurons on the maxillary palp caused by pros[IG2227] clones in 80% of animals.
The number of ectopic CO[[2]] neurons on the maxillary palp in animals containing pros[IG2227] clones is significantly suppressed if they are also carrying either esg[k00606]/+ or nerfin-1[159]/+, but is unaffected if they are also carrying exex[KK30]/+. | |||
