UASt regulatory sequences drive expression of a 500bp inverted repeat.
wing, with Scer\GAL4Mhc.PU
wing, with Scer\GAL4Tub.PU
Flies expressing Adck1NIG.3608R under the control of either Scer\GAL4Tub.PU (in combination with a Gal80[ts] transgene to restrict expression to the adult stage) or Scer\GAL4Mhc.PU (but not Scer\GAL4Cg.PU or Scer\GAL4nSyb.PU) show defective "held-up" wing position phenotypes, reduced locomotor activity and slower walking speed than controls.
In flies expressing Adck1NIG.3608R under the control of either Scer\GAL4Tub.PU (in combination with a Gal80[ts] transgene to restrict expression to the adult stage) or Scer\GAL4Mhc.PU, thoracic muscles are abnormally oriented and show deformed mitochondrial morphologies. Additionally, expression under the control of Scer\GAL4Tub.PU induces cell death in thoracic muscles.
Expressing Adck1NIG.3608R under the control of Scer\GAL4Sgs3.PD results in mitochondria with a larger area than controls in salivary glands of third instar larvae.
Scer\GAL4Ilp2.PR-mediated expression results in a significant reduction in the body weight of emerging adults compared to controls.
