Reference

Expression of Sb^NIG.4316R under the control of Scer\GAL4^ptc-559.1 narrows the L3-L4 intervein region and reduces the anterior crossvein. Expression driven by Scer\GAL4^C-765 reduces the size of both the anterior and posterior compartments and appears to primarily affect proximo-distal growth. Wings are 32% shorter than controls, and many wings appear crumpled. In addition, vein bifurcations and ectopic veins, including a stretch positioned anterior to L4, are observed frequently. Expression of Sb^NIG.4316R exclusively in the posterior compartment using Scer\GAL4^en-e16E has only mild effects. Overall wing size is unaffected and bifurcations of the posterior cross vein are observed but rarely.

Flies expressing Sb^NIG.4316R under the control of Scer\GAL4^da.G32 show comparable levels of mortality to wild type in response to mild wounding in 7-8 day old adults.
