In adult midgut clones expressing Cftr^NIG.5789R under the control of Scer\GAL4^Act5C.PP, enterocytes are swollen

Adults expressing Cftr^NIG.5789R under the control of Scer\GAL4^Myo31DF.PU are sensitive to oral infection with P. aeruginosa (increased bacterial load and death). Their adult midgut exhibits a thinner peritrophic matrix, increased numbers of intestinal stem cells and increased mitotic index.
