Expression of upd2NIG.5988R under the control of Scer\GAL4tub.PU and Scer\GAL4esg-NP7397 in the intestinal stem cells (ISCs) and their subsequent lineage (using the "esg[F/O]" flip-out lineage system to mark ISC progenitors and their subsequent lineage) has no effect on epithelium turnover or ISC maintenance in the midgut.

Expression of upd2NIG.5988R under the control of Scer\GAL4ppl.PP results in small adults.

Expression of upd2NIG.5988R under the control of Scer\GAL4Cg.PA results in small larvae.

Larvae expressing upd2NIG.5988R under the control of Scer\GAL4Cg.PA show a significant reduction in triacylglycerol (TAG) levels compared to controls.

15 day old adults expressing upd2NIG.5988R under the control of Scer\GAL4yolk show a significant reduction in TAG levels and a significant increase in circulating glucose levels compared to controls.

Adults expressing upd2NIG.5988R under the control of either Scer\GAL4yolk or Scer\GAL4Cg.PA do not show defects in feeding behaviour.
