Statement
Reference
An 18.7kb wild-type genomic transgene that contains 560bp of the exons specific to the orb2 E-H isoforms and none of the I isoform. The phenylalanine at residue 5 has been replaced by a tyrosine. T:Avic\GFP[EGFP] is fused in frame in the C-terminal end. The construct contains a attB site.

Comments
Expression of orb2[F5Y] partially rescues the courtship behavior defects seen in orb2[Δ] mutant males. Memory in these flies begins to decay after 36 hour and there was no measurable memory by 48-60 hours. Expression of orb2[F5Y] partially rescues the defects in olfactory memory seen in orb2[Δ] mutant flies. No memory deficits are seen at 24 hours, but by 48 hours the flies have a lower memory score than wild-type flies.
