p38c7B1 mutant flies are more susceptible to Ecc15 infection than wild-type flies.

p38c7B1 mutant flies are more susceptible to 1% H[[2]]O[[2]] than wild-type flies.

p38c7B1 mutant flies are more resistant to infection with P.entomophila than wild-type flies. The midguts of infected flies have an increased rate of epithelium renewal compared to controls. No increase in proliferation is seen in uninfected p38c7B1 mutant flies. Reactive oxygen species levels are lower in the intestines of p38c7B1 mutants.

p38c7B1 mutant flies accumulate lipids in the R2b and R5 regions of the midgut. Enlarged lipid droplets are seen in the gut of p38c7B1 mutants but not in wild type.
