Detailed Description

Adult escapers expressing mir-311Scer\UAS.T:Ppyr\LUC under the control of Scer\GAL4Bx-MS1096 are all female. The wings are curved and the veins are slightly thicker than normal.

Expression of mir-311Scer\UAS.T:Ppyr\LUC under the control of Scer\GAL4sd-SG29.1 results in curved wings.

Expression of mir-311Scer\UAS.T:Ppyr\LUC under the control of Scer\GAL4ptc-559.1 results in a reduction in the space between veins L3 and L4 and hairs are missing.

Genetic Interactions

Expression of mir-311Scer\UAS.T:Ppyr\LUC under the control of Scer\GAL4L4 enhances the cuticle phenotype seen in esgL4/+ mutant flies, with 23% of the resulting flies having phenotypes compared with 8% in esgL4/+ alone. Viability is unaffected. The increase in nicotine sensitivity is also enhanced.
