Expressing Hsap\MAPTUAS.wt under the control of Scer\GAL4GMR.PFa induces eye degeneration (i.e. a small eye).

Expression of Hsap\MAPTScer\UAS.wt under the control of Scer\GAL4nSyb.PS leads to significantly reduced adult lifespan.

Expression of Hsap\MAPTScer\UAS.wt results in adult eye degeneration phenotype when driven by Scer\GAL4GMR.PU and progressive loss of climbing ability in adult flies when driven by Scer\GAL4elav-C155.

Over-expression of Hsap\MAPTScer\UAS.wt driven in the eye by Scer\GAL4GMR.PFa results in a small rough eye phenotype, compared to controls.

Flies expressing Hsap\MAPTScer\UAS.wt under the control of Scer\GAL4GMR.PS show appreciable cell death (cleaved caspase activity) posterior to the morphogenetic furrow compared to controls.

These effects may be additive rather than synergistic.

Co-expression of sggScer\UAS.cSa markedly enhances the Hsap\MAPTScer\UAS.wt, Scer\GAL4GMR.PS eye phenotype, results in smaller eye with abnormally fused ommatidia and complete loss of bristles. The internal retinal architecture of the double transgenics is severely disrupted.
