Expression of Mmus\Shisa5Scer\UAS.cGa under the control of Scer\GAL4ey.PH results in a reduction in eye size. Although individual ommatidia look normal, their arrangement is irregular. Expression under the control of Scer\GAL4GMR.PS results in a glossy eye phenotype with black patches in the eye. Ommatidia are fused and eyes exhibit near-complete loss of inter-ommatidial bristles.

Expression of Mmus\Shisa5Scer\UAS.cGa in the entire wing pouch of the wing disc under the control of Scer\GAL4sd-SG29.1 results in complete absence of the wing blade.

Expression of Mmus\Shisa5Scer\UAS.cGa in the A/P boundary of the developing wing under the control of either Scer\GAL4ptc-559.1 or Scer\GAL4dpp.PH causes bifurcation of the adult wing.

Expression of Mmus\Shisa5Scer\UAS.cGa under the control of Scer\GAL4bbg-C96 causes a serrated wing margin.

Expression of Mmus\Shisa5Scer\UAS.cGa under the control of either Scer\GAL4GMR.PS, Scer\GAL4bbg-C96, Scer\GAL4dpp.PH or Scer\GAL4sd-SG29.1 results in apoptosis that coincides with the expression domain.
