Drives expression in the giant fiber neuron and its postynaptic targets, including the tergotrochanteral muscle motor neuron (TTMn) and peripherally synapsing interneurons (PSIs).

ScerGAL4shot-OK307 drives strong expression in the giant fiber neuron, and weak expression in the tergotrochanteral muscle motor neuron (TTMn) and peripherally synapsing interneuron (PSI).

The cell body of the giant fibre neuron is located just below the dorsal protocerebral surface. The major dendritic arborization projects posterolaterally and ventrally, arborizing in the deutocerebrum. Minor dendrites project ventrolaterally and dorsomedially. The latter follow the path of the giant commissure interneurons (which also mark with ScerGAL4A307). The axon runs posteriorly towards the ventral midline, and projects dorsally, exiting the brain along the dorsal midline of the cervical connective. It projects unbranched through the prothoracic neuromere until it reaches the mesothoracic neuromere where it turns ventrally and laterally towards the edge of the ganglion.

During pupal stage, expression first detected at 6hrs. APF; consistent expression in giant fibers; dynamic and transient expression in other cells of the CNS.In adults, predominant expression in the cell bodies and axons of the giant fibers; also in a small number of other cells of the CNS: in giant commissural interneurons, possibly targets of the GF's, and in a bilateral pattern of scattered cells in the brain and thoracic/abdominal ganglion.
