The morphology of the optic lobe neuroepithelium is distorted in late third instar larvae expressing OptixFL.UAS under the control of Scer\GAL4Vsx1-MzVum.
Expressing OptixFL.UAS under the control of either Scer\GAL4C855a or Scer\GAL4NP2631 leads to the formation of a multi-layered neuroepithelium with rosettes of rounded cells which have lost columnar apico-basal polarity in the outer optic anlage of late third instar larvae. GAL80ts was used to induce OptixFL.UAS expression between 24 and 48 hours after larval hatching. The same phenotype is observed in the outer optic anlage, eye discs and leg discs of late third instar larvae following the induction of somatic clones expressing OptixFL.UAS under the control of Scer\GAL4αTub84B.PL.
Expression of OptixFL.Scer\UAS under the control of Scer\GAL4ey.PU results in a small rough eye.
Scer\GAL4GMR.PU-mediated expression of OptixFL.Scer\UAS drastically inhibits eye development.
Scer\GAL4ey.PU-mediated expression of OptixFL.Scer\UAS results in dramatic reductions in eye formation.
Expression of OptixFL.Scer\UAS via Scer\GAL4dpp.PU, Scer\GAL4rn-GAL4-5, Scer\GAL4cb49, Scer\GAL4c309 or Scer\GAL4sca-C253 yields ectopic eyes on the adult antenna, the ventral portion of the head, or the wing and haltere.
Expression of OptixFL.Scer\UAS via Scer\GAL4rn-GAL4-5 results in replacement of wing tissue with retinal tissue.
Expression of OptixFL.Scer\UAS via Scer\GAL4ey.PU or Scer\GAL4GMR.PU results in a severely altered eye external surface and a complete loss of photoreceptor neurons.
OptixFL.UAS/Scer\GAL4ey.PU is a non-suppressor of eye phenotype of so1
OptixFL.UAS/Scer\GAL4ey.PU is a non-suppressor of eye phenotype of soD
