      Egg chambers from unstarved flies expressing Dcp-1Scer\UAS.P\T.cHa in the germline under the control of Scer\GAL4nos.PG undergo follicle cell engulfment of nurse cells, but it is delayed compared to wild type.

      In contrast to wild type, the ovaries of well-fed flies expressing Dcp-1Scer\UAS.P\T.cHa under the control of one copy each of Scer\GAL4nos.PG and Scer\GAL4nos.UTR.T:Hsim\VP16 contain a large number of degenerating stage eight egg chambers. Increased levels of autophagy (punctate Lysotracker staining) in stage eight degenerating egg chambers compared to controls.
