Expression of PtthScer\UAS.P\T.T:Ivir\HA1 under the control of Scer\GAL4phm.PO results in a marked advancement in the time of pupariation compared with controls. Male body size is reduced. When PtthScer\UAS.P\T.T:Ivir\HA1 is expressed in the germ line under the control of Scer\GAL4nos.UTR.T:Hsim\VP16 the patterning of the embryonic cuticle is grossly disrupted.

The decrease in male body size is further enhanced.
