Expressing ctUAS.cUa under the control of Scer\GAL4221 results in a significantly increased number of branch points in the dendrites of class I dendritic arborizing neurons in third instar larvae compared to wild-type controls.
Overexpression of ctScer\UAS.cUa driven by Scer\GAL4109(2)80 or Scer\GAL42-21 leads to a significant increase in dendrite branch points and length in class I da sensory neurons compared to wild type, along with formation of dendritic spike morphology.
Expression of ctScer\UAS.cUa under the control of Scer\GAL4ey.PU converts the eye into a duplicate antenna.

Loss of fs(1)h1112/fs(1)h1112 in class I da neuron clones suppresses the increase in dendrite branch points and length and formation of dendritic spike morphology seen in larvae with ctScer\UAS.cUa overexpression driven by Scer\GAL4109(2)80. Co-expression of fs(1)hScer\UAS.T:Avic\GFP-EGFP partially suppresses the increase in dendrite branch points and length in class I da neurons seen in larvae with ctScer\UAS.cUa overexpression driven by Scer\GAL42-21.
