Expression of Gem2Scer\UAS.cBa under the control of Scer\GAL4Mef2.PR has no effect on flight ability of adult flies, mobility of the third instar larvae or shape of pupae and Scer\GAL4elav-C155-driven expression does not impair adult viability.

Expression of Gem2Scer\UAS.cBa driven by Scer\GAL4Mef2.PR impairs flight in early adulthood and flies have either droopy or held up wings, compared to controls; survival does not decline with age. Expression of Gem2Scer\UAS.cBa driven by Scer\GAL4how-24B results in pupae with a significantly larger puparial axial ratio than controls.

Expression of a low expressing in combination with a high expressing Gem2Scer\UAS.cBa driven by Scer\GAL41032.hx has a marginal impact on viability to adulthood (around 80% survive); expression of two high expressing Gem2Scer\UAS.cBa transgenes results in almost total lethality at 25[o]C (few escapers), and complete lethality at 29[o]C.
