While ubiquitous expression of Snr1VDRC.cUa under the control of Scer\GAL4αTub84B.PL inevitably results in larval death (L2 stage), glial-specific expression of Snr1VDRC.cUa under the control of Scer\GAL4repo.PU is associated with death at the pupal stage of development.

Ubiquitous and glial-specific expression of Snr1VDRC.cUa results in increased volume of the larval fly brain, which is associated with increased cell proliferation.
