Description

Genomic fragment from Bac clone CH322-126A13 which contains the PPO1 transcription unit. The amino acid replacement A480V (this is the lesion found in the PPO1Bc mutation) has been introduced into the PPO1 coding sequence.

Detailed Description
Statement
Reference

Larvae carrying PPO1A480V in a PPO1[+] background have melanised crystal cells in circulation, and less frequently and apparently, melanisation is seen in the lymph gland.

Melanisation at the wound site in response to physical wounding is seen in larvae and adults carrying PPO1A480V in a PPO1[+] background, as occurs in wild type.

Larvae and adults carrying PPO1A480V in a PPO1Δ background do not show melanisation at the wound site in response to physical wounding, in contrast to wild type.
