Adult males with inhibition (using Ctet\tetXTNT-LC.UAS) of neurons targeted by the split-GAL4 pair of Scer\GAL4DBD.R44E04 and Hsap\RELAAD.R13F02 have significantly weaker suppression of courtship behavior following training with mated females, compared to controls.

Optogenetic activation (using Zzzz\ChRChrimson.IVS.Syn21.10xUAS.tdTomato or Cnoc\ChR1Cs.IVS.20xUAS.Venus with 627 nm (red) light) of neurons targeted by the split-GAL4 pair of Scer\GAL4DBD.R44E04 and Hsap\RELAAD.R13F02 in adult females results in a short depolarization of MBON-alpha1 (mushroom body output neuron 7).

Blocking synaptic transmission (using shits1.IVS.p10.20xScer\UAS at 33[o]C) from neurons targeted by the split-GAL4 combination of Hsap\RELAAD.R13F02 and Scer\GAL4DBD.R44E04 does not significantly impair visual (aversive color discrimination conditioning) memory performance, compared to controls.

Inhibition (using shi1.UAS at 32[o]C) of neurons targeted by the split-GAL4 pair of Scer\GAL4DBD.R44E04 and Hsap\RELAAD.R13F02 in adults during, or immediately after, training, but not immediately before testing, significantly impairs long-term appetitive olfactory memory, compared to controls; inhibition does not affect short-term memory.

Thermogenetic activation (using TrpA1UAS.(B).cKa at 28.5[o]C) of neurons targeted by the split-GAL4 pair of Scer\GAL4DBD.R44E04 and Hsap\RELAAD.R13F02 in adult males or females does not significantly affect the amount of sleep, compared to controls; activation does not significantly affect locomotor activity of awake adult males, compared to controls.

Inhibition (using shi1.UAS at 33[o]C) of neurons targeted by the split-GAL4 pair of Scer\GAL4DBD.R44E04 and Hsap\RELAAD.R13F02 in adults does not significantly affect aversive or appetitive 1-min olfactory memory, compared to controls.
