Animals which are shifted to 28[o]C during the first or second larval instar show hyperproliferation of the imaginal disc and brain as third instar larvae and show a mild decrease in neuromuscular junction growth (in terms of bouton number and synapse complexity). Animals which are shifted to 28[o]C during the first larval instar show defects in cell morphology and organisation in the larval midgut.
