Expression of Zzzz\CAG100.Scer\UAS.T:Disc\RFP-DsRed2 under the control of Scer\GAL4GMR.PU results in a rough eye phenotype.

Co-expression of Disc\RFPCAG100.DsRed2.Scer\UAS with Disc\RFP(CTG)130.Scer\UAS in the muscle, under the control of Scer\GAL4how-24B, results in developmental lethality.

Expression of Disc\RFPCAG100.DsRed2.Scer\UAS in the muscle, under the control of Scer\GAL4how-24B, does not generate a phenotype.

One day old flies expressing four copies of Disc\RFPCAG100.DsRed2.Scer\UAS in the eye under the control of Scer\GAL4GMR.PF show internal loss of retinal tissue, with holes within the retina. Normal brain morphology is seen in one day old flies expressing five copies of Disc\RFPCAG100.DsRed2.Scer\UAS in neurons under the control of Scer\GAL4elav-C155, but flies undergo striking degeneration of the brain over time and have vacuoles in the brain at 35 days. The flies die early with progressive loss of climbing ability compared to controls.
