Expression of Zzzz\aopPScer\UAS.T:Hsap\MYC under the control of Scer\GAL4hs.PU results in complete loss of viability up to 96 hours post heat-shock.

Monitoring of survival reveals no significant increase in mortality rate between uninfected Zzzz\aopPScer\UAS.T:Hsap\MYC-expressing flies and isogenic controls injured with a sterile needle. However, heat-shock induced expression of Zzzz\aopPScer\UAS.T:Hsap\MYC under the control of Scer\GAL4hs.PU significantly dampens the ability of flies to respond to both Gram-negative and Gram-positive bacteria compared with controls. Bacterially infected Zzzz\aopPScer\UAS.T:Hsap\MYC-expressing flies exhibit significantly increased mortality rates compared with isogenic Zzzz\aopPScer\UAS.T:Hsap\MYC-expressing flies injured with a sterile needle. No significant differences are detected between the survival rates of infected Zzzz\aopPScer\UAS.T:Hsap\MYC-expressing flies compared with infected controls expressing only the Scer\GAL4hs.PU driver.

Expression of Zzzz\aopPScer\UAS.T:Hsap\MYC in the eye under using Scer\GAL4GMR.PF results in an altered eye phenotype compared with controls.

Adult flies expressing Zzzz\aopPScer\UAS.T:Hsap\MYC in the wing margin using Scer\GAL4bbg-C96 exhibit dose dependant wing margin notching.

Fat bodies expressing Zzzz\aopPScer\UAS.T:Hsap\MYC under the control of Scer\GAL4c564 exhibit increased apoptosis compared with control larvae.

Fat bodies expressing Zzzz\aopPScer\UAS.T:Hsap\MYC 72 hours after heat-shock under the control of Scer\GAL4hs.PU exhibit increased apoptosis compared with control larvae.

Expression of Zzzz\aopPScer\UAS.T:Hsap\MYC under the control of Scer\GAL4Hml.PG results in about a 60 % reduction in the number of plasmatocytes compared with controls.

Flies expressing Zzzz\aopPScer\UAS.T:Hsap\MYC in plasmatocytes under the control of Scer\GAL4Hml.PG show significantly reduced survival rate following parental infection with Micrococcus luteus only between 5 and 8 days post infection, compared with control flies. Zzzz\aopPScer\UAS.T:Hsap\MYC-expressing flies infected with Erwinia carotovora also exhibit noticeably reduced survival, compared with controls, between 5 and 8 days post infection, although these differences are not statistically significant. No significant differences are detected between Zzzz\aopPScer\UAS.T:Hsap\MYC-expressing flies and controls when stabbed with a sterile needle.

Flies expressing Zzzz\aopPScer\UAS.T:Hsap\MYC under the control of Scer\GAL4GMR.PF exhibit a rough eye phenotype.

Co-expression of thScer\UAS.cUa using Scer\GAL4GMR.PF markedly suppresses the eye phenotype caused by the expression of Zzzz\aopPScer\UAS.T:Hsap\MYC.

Co-expression of BacA\p35Scer\UAS.cUa using Scer\GAL4bbg-C96 completely suppresses the wing notching phenotype caused by the expression of Zzzz\aopPScer\UAS.T:Hsap\MYC.

Co-expression of Ras85DV12.cUa.Scer\UAS with Zzzz\aopPScer\UAS.T:Hsap\MYC under the control of Scer\GAL4GMR.PF does not alter the eye morphology of Zzzz\aopPScer\UAS.T:Hsap\MYC-expressing eyes.

Co-expression of rlsem.cUa.Scer\UAS with Zzzz\aopPScer\UAS.T:Hsap\MYC under the control of Scer\GAL4GMR.PF does not alter the eye morphology of Zzzz\aopPScer\UAS.T:Hsap\MYC-expressing eyes.

Co-expression of pntP2.Scer\UAS with Zzzz\aopPScer\UAS.T:Hsap\MYC under the control of Scer\GAL4GMR.PF does not alter the eye morphology of Zzzz\aopPScer\UAS.T:Hsap\MYC-expressing eyes.

Co-expression of Zzzz\aopPScer\UAS.T:Hsap\MYC with egrScer\UAS.cUa under the control of Scer\GAL4GMR.PF partially rescues the eye phenotype resulting from the overexpression of egrScer\UAS.cUa. While the size of the Zzzz\aopPScer\UAS.T:Hsap\MYC-rescued eye is marginally larger than the eyes expressing egrScer\UAS.cUa alone, black necrotic tissue is clearly visible within the eye tissue.

Expression of BacA\p35Scer\UAS.cUa suppresses the rough eye phenotype seen when Zzzz\aopPScer\UAS.T:Hsap\MYC is expressed under the control of Scer\GAL4GMR.PF.

Expression of thScer\UAS.cUa suppresses the rough eye phenotype seen when Zzzz\aopPScer\UAS.T:Hsap\MYC is expressed under the control of Scer\GAL4GMR.PF.
