Expression of AckScer\UAS.T:SV5\V5 under the control of either Scer\GAL4Bx-MS1096 or Scer\GAL4GMR.PU promotes excessive growth resulting in adult wings and eyes (respectively) that are significantly larger than in the wild-type controls.

The increased adult wing size characteristic for flies expressing AckScer\UAS.T:SV5\V5 under the control of Scer\GAL4Bx-MS1096 is completely suppressed by coexpression of ykiGD11187 : the resulting wings are severely undergrown and malformed compared to wild-type and their size is not significantly different from when ykiGD11187 is expressed on its own.

Expression of AckScer\UAS.T:SV5\V5 under the control of Scer\GAL4Ubi.PU in either the Mer4 or the kibra4 homozygous somatic clones (induced using the eyFLP method) promotes tissue overgrowth in the adult eye.

The eye overgrowth observed in adult flies expressing either ykiScer\UAS.cZa or ykiS168A.Scer\UAS.cRa.T:Hsap\MYC under the control of Scer\GAL4GMR.PU is exacerbated further by co-expression of AckScer\UAS.T:SV5\V5 (which on its own also promotes eye growth).

Simultaneous expression of AckScer\UAS.T:SV5\V5, which on its own leads to wing overgrowth, and any of the following: exScer\UAS.cUa, ex5YA.Scer\UAS, exY227A.Scer\UAS, exY423A.Scer\UAS, exY679A.Scer\UAS, exY766A.Scer\UAS, exY1103A.Scer\UAS which each on its own leads to very small and malformed wings, under the control of Scer\GAL4Bx-MS1096 results in wings of intermediate size but smaller than in wild-type controls. In the case of ex5YA.Scer\UAS co-expression the wings are only slightly bigger than with ex5YA.Scer\UAS expressed alone.

The overgrowth phenotype observed in adult eye and antennae containing exe1 homozygous mutant somatic clones (induced by the eyFLP method) is not changed when the clones also express AckScer\UAS.T:SV5\V5 under the control of Scer\GAL4Ubi.PU. However, expression of AckScer\UAS.T:SV5\V5 (but not AckKD.Scer\UAS.T:SV5\V5) significantly enhances the overgrowth phenotype induced by hpoBF33 clones.
