aveCC9-36B/aveCC9-20A embryos derived from mothers bearing aveCC9-36B mutant germline clones and thus lacking both maternal and zygotic ave show a complete loss of muscle founder cells, scattering of the visceral mesoderm after germband retraction and absence of functional gut musculature at late embryonic stages.
