Description

UASt regulatory sequences drive expression of ZIKV\NS4A protein, tagged at the C-terminal end with three copies of Tag:HA. The ZIKV\NS4A ORF is flanked by a pair of incompatible FRT sites (FRT5 and FRT2), which allows for future in vivo exchange of either the promoter or tag sequence.

      The expression of ZIKV\NS4AUAS.Tag:HA leads to third instar larvae showing a significant reduction in brain volume (driven by Scer\GAL4Act5C.PI), and mitotic neuroblasts frequently mis-positioning polarity (aPKC) and cell determinant (Miranda) proteins, as well as some spindle orientation defects (driven by Scer\GAL4insc-Mz1407).
