Genetic Data
Genes subject to position-effect variegation
Genes showing dominant position-effect variegation
Genes NOT subject to position-effect variegation
Other Information
Homozygous lethal. Viability and fertility of heterozygote excellent. Occasional double crossover in 2R if X and 3 are heterozygous for inversions. MacIntyre and Wright (FBrf0017571) found no recombination between In(2LR)SM1 and al dp P{wbcd.2.5}b pr cn P{wEcol\lexA.240}c px sp in females heterozygous for In(1)sc8 and In(3LR)Ubx130. Nondisjunction of compound autosomes occurs in SM1/+ females (FBrf0020617); balancer shows interchromosomal effect (FBrf0025068). Reliable balancer for all of chromosome 2.
Transmission rate of Dp(1;f)J21A through females to progeny is 28%, FM7c balancer chromosome has no effect on transmission.
